ANOTHER EASTER CELEBRATION, ANOTHER YEAR GOES BY

This year, Easter is slightly bitter-sweet.

Of course like any Believer,  I am extremely excited for the day’s activities, all surrounded around our Lord’s resurrection!

All the Easter eggs have been strategically placed for my two boys. The hot cross buns are waiting on the kitchen counter.

Soon enough, we’ll be piling into the car and heading off to Easter Sunday Worship. Following our service, we’ll be off to a gathering of friends for Easter lunch!

To be sure, today will be a great day!

However, I’m not so excited that Easter Sunday fell on March 31st this year, and that tomorrow is April. My birthday is in April and I will be turning 34 this year. Many of you are likely thinking, “So what’s the big deal?

Well, it really comes down to a connection with Easter.

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, who soon after ascended to heaven. The end of His ministry here on earth, which many scholars believe was all achieved before Jesus turned 34 years of age.

For most, this likely doesn’t mean too much, but this is why I have not looked forward to turning 34.

I understand that in the grand scheme of my legacy and life in ministry, this thought may seem foolish. Please DO NOT read this I though I were complaining; but rather sharing some personal thoughts.

I have pondered this for a few years now, and it will soon be here.
