Do you ever see or hear something that makes you feel like fighting?
I’m talking about fighting for someone who has been cheated or put down. Perhaps, fighting for some cause or speaking out about something that needs to be said when no one else is saying it. Generally, I’m a fighter way before I’m a flight-er.
Proverbs 29:26 states, “Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that one gets justice.” I always want to go to the top-dog and get things straightened out. I have an overwhelming urge to ‘put people in their place‘ so to speak. If I had the chance, I’m sure I’d have plenty to say to the President of the United States or the Prime Minister of Canada.
Yet, what good would it do me? Justice, like everything else in our lives is cared for with purpose by our Creator. We may not understand the plan, but He does. If God felt that a certain ruler needed persuading, He could change the mind of a ruler in a heartbeat. The question for me is do I have the faith to believe that?
Today, we may get the opportunity to meet with the rulers of countries, states, provinces, cities or towns. Perhaps, we’ll meet with rulers of business, organizations or churches. Finally, almost all of us will meet the rulers of our households and/or families today.
Let us remember that within all these structures of life, the ruler is only ruler because God has appointed him or her for this time. Let’s seek God’s wisdom first, as we fight for our little piece of justice.
What injustice gets you in the mood to fight?
