HOW TO REMEMBER EVERY GREAT IDEA

Creativity can strike at any moment.

It might be a topic for a blog post. It might be an example for teaching. It might be an exercise for a group activity. It might be a person who I need to speak to.

It might simply be something that I need to pick up at the store.

Where do you store your thoughts?

When an idea comes rushing to your mind, where does it go? When you think of something creative or useful, what do you do with it? When a place or person has reminded you of something that should be done, how do you keep that memory from slipping away?

If you’re sick of using your phone’s basic Notes app or worse, a pen and paper; I have an excellent alternative.

It’s called Evernote.

Evernote’s slogan is, “Remember Everything“. Evernote explains itself as,

Evernote apps and products make modern life manageable, by letting you easily collect and find everything that matters.

Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your everyday life using your computer, phone, tablet and the web.

Basically, it’s an app that becomes a part of every device you have. It continually syncs with the latest Notes and Notebooks (information) that you’ve added.

As Media Expert, Michael Hyatt states regarding Evernote,

…it has truly become my digital brain.

The best part is that its FREE!

Caveat, like any app, there is a paid version with a tonne more bells and whistles. Personally, I’ve been using the free app for a couple of years now. I still haven’t used Evernote’s free version to its full capacity yet.

Every week, I find new ways to use Evernote.

Why is Evernote better than Notes apps?

The short answer is, once you try it you won’t go back. But I understand you’ll need more convincing than that.

Not only will you be able to store a wide variety of content through papers, projects and lists on Evernote; they’ll go wherever you go. You’ll have access to them at the bus stop, in the break room, on the … (okay, I won’t go there.)

Maybe I just did go there.

This doesn’t just mean your work goes with you. This encompasses extensive research documents as well. More than book-marking, you’ll be able to find snippets, articles, diagrams and images.

They’ll become a part of your Evernote, to which you can now access them online or off.

Still not convinced?

Let me speak from personal experience. As of this morning, the following is a current list of the ongoing projects in my Evernote app’s portfolio.

Please note, the following are my personal projects, unless otherwise sited to another author. Other works have only been saved in my Evernote portfolio for research purposes.
