It’s Time to Discover Independent Canadian Musician, Deni Gauthier

Posted January 22, 2012

These days, I’m not exactly sure how a musician gets the status of being famous. Perhaps, other than winning American Idol that is.

Seriously though, the days of trying to get your demo tape into the hands of some record label CEO are gone. Just take a moment, cruise through YouTube and you’ll find loads of artists that have something to offer. The problem is, you can’t ever get a glimpse of the character or integrity of that artist until you really spend time with them.

In other words, are they worth investing in; to highlight at your concert or festival? Or, are they worth investing in the long term? Do they really have what it takes to make you and them successful? YouTube is not going to be able to give you that information. At some point, you need to get to know the core of the artist, not just their talent.

Over the next few days, I’d like to feature an independent musician named Deni Gauthier. I have had the pleasure of knowing Deni personally. Over the past twelve years, I have witnessed his talent grow to levels of excellence. Furthermore and in reference to my initial thoughts, Deni is an artist who has integrity and compassion, mixed with a good dose of humour.

Deni clearly knows where he comes from.

He has the potential to have a great impact on the world through his music. He also seems willing to open the doors to his personal and family life, which leads his followers to understand his lyrical content in a much truer form.

Deni’s lyrical content is not just a series of fancy words to make one feel good; his lyrics are core to his past and his daily interaction with the world around him. His life, whether filled with joy or pain, is revealed in the words that his music brings to life.

In regard to his family life, I should not forget to mention that he has been blessed with a wife who complements his gifts. She should not be underestimated as not being part of the package that he offers. Her steadfast encouragement of his craft shows her dedication to him as a person; such that is not often seen in the arena of art and music.

I have often wondered if his overall presence would display less confidence if she were not in his life.

Of course, back to my opening paragraph, I am suggesting wholeheartedly, that Deni Gauthier is a great investment for your one-time gig or a multi-city tour that you may be putting together. But for you, my average reader, after so much discussion on a musician, you can only be asking one question: “What does he sound like?

The short answer is to click HERE and start listening!

Alternately, I understand that these days, the music video sells the artist. So, to start off this series of posts, I’d like to offer Deni’s newest video, which is actually a cover of the one and only, U2. Perhaps, this is a good way for you to judge his talent for sound before I give you all a glimpse of what’s inside his head. Here’s “One” by U2, played by Deni Gauthier.
