NEW MINISTRY POSITION, NEW FAMILY MEMBER

Personal Life Update:

Mark Henry NortonLet’s save the ministry update for later, and focus on the most recent (and exciting) news:

Introducing Mark Henry Norton, born at 7:03 AM on Tuesday, April 12th; weighing 7lbs 14oz and 20 1/4″ in length.

We just arrived home from he hospital this afternoon. Mom and baby are doing excellent. Both are happy and healthy.

After only knowing him for 3 days, Mark seems to be a calm, inquisitive boy. When he’s not sleeping or feeding, he seems to enjoy looking around for colours and listening for sounds; his eyes always seem to be scanning the room. (Quite a change from our first 2 boys.)

This addition of a third son will be quite an adjustment for our family. In a world predominantly designed for families of 4, we have taken the next step in this adventure called family.

Thankfully, I was able to take a week off from ministry with the church to focus on my ministry to my family.

And speaking of ministry…

I experienced another change that will be an adjustment for our family. At the end of March, I transitioned from the Associate Pastor of Whitehorse Baptist Church to the Lead Pastor. This was an incredible blessing, but also a significant responsibility.

After a couple of weeks in, I definitely feel the spiritual and relational weight of leading our flock. It has changed how I view my relationship with Christ, our congregation and our city.

That being said, I can’t let it change my relationship with Nicole, nor my boys. I need to make sure I daily show the difference between of leading a church and leading a home.

Moving Forward

With a new job and a new son, I have a lot to reflect on. This has already been and will continue to be a prayer-filled week off.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for my family and my ministry.

In His Service,
Jeremy
