This Sunday, I have been given the task of finishing chapter one of our Colossians series.
You may remember an earlier post regarding our church’s mission statement based on Col. 1:28, “To Present Everyone Complete.” This week I’ll highlight that verse again, but then move to the final verse of the chapter to wrap up the chapter.
Colossians 1:28-29 reads as follows: “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.“
As I prepare this message, I ask for your assistance. I am hoping that this post will generate some thoughts and ideas on how these verses impact you.
Also, considering this Sunday falls on Independence Day weekend (and Canada Day weekend for my Canuck readers), perhaps you have some thoughts that connect these verses with Western-world culture?
In short, what do you hear when you read Colossians 1:28-29?
