Yesterday, I shared some thoughts on enjoying the wonder of God’s creation.
The concept of taking time to check out of life and enjoy God’s creation has always been my desire. This being said, busy schedules and project deadlines will keep any ministry leader indoors.
However, when we do get outside, there is something great about wilderness experience. It brings us back to the magnitude and might of our heavenly Father. It gives us a chance to reflect on current trials within a setting that proves God’s hand will sustain us.
Furthermore, for those of us who struggle with pride, the created world brings us back down from our high places. We are humbled by our Creator’s innovation and artistic design.
Throughout my career, I have benefited from living in areas of North America that provide ample opportunity to play outside. Specifically, my 4 year term in Alaska proved to be unique, as I witnessed daily the Lord’s spectacular, yet truly wild creation.
Through a few keys experiences, I gained a first hand insight into the strength and splendor of our Lord’s handiwork. Then in awe, realized that as a ministry leader, I ultimately serve the One whom spoke these powerful, beautiful things into existence.
In your opinion, which area of the world shows the greatest amount of God’s strength and splendour?
