WHY I LOVE CAMP MINISTRY

It Starts Today!

For those of you who aren’t aware, I serve a dual role between Westbourne Baptist Church and Whispering Pines Bible Camp.

Today, is transition day! I’ll be travelling into the beautiful Albertan Foothills for our Spring Clean-Up Weekend. It’s time to open up the camp and get it ready for a packed season of ministry.

It’s an exciting time of year.

The obvious is the amazing experience that camp ministry is in itself. Dozens of kids and teens will get out of their cities and towns, putting down their video games to pick up a bow or a paddle. Children embracing God’s creation is a wonderful thing to see.

The real exciting part is that many of these campers will hear the Gospel for the first time this Summer.

Campfire times are always a highlight!

Who doesn’t like campfires to begin with? Add in an acoustic guitar, a hand-drum and a few worship tunes; it’s so easy to focus on the Lord in that moment.

Soon the music stops and the Camp Pastor shares God’s word. Though the message is often designed for children and teens, it’s so easy for any adult to pick up some great nuggets of truth around that campfire.

It’s an amazing feeling to have no distractions. No wifi, no cell service, just campers enjoying and experience creation. Watching the joy of their experience and watching the Holy Spirit move in their hearts. Not much beats it!

You should join us.

Obviously, we’d love to have your children or teens at camp this summer, but what about you?

We have many opportunities, to check out of life for a week and come up and serve with us. From Camp Speakers to Cooks, Maintenance to Cabin Leaders; your gifts and abilities will perform incredible kingdom works at our camp.
