Most children love being outside, embracing nature with wonder. As adults, we can learn to rekindle that joy.
Much like other parents, my wife and I try to be intentional about praying with our oldest son. It’s tough to stay on top of it, but as I said, we’re trying! Since he’s been praying on his own, his typical prayer will sound something like the following.
Bob is a true evangelist! I had an opportunity to hear him speak at Creationfest years ago, and his message still resonates with me. During his presentation, he suggested that the church should be doing a better job of evangelizing to youth and children. I don’t think anyone in the crowd disagreed. However, we were all further compelled when he laid out the reasons why.
Children have supernatural thoughts. Having three sons is an adventure, to say the least. All three of them have been full of imagination and strong will. Here’s an account of when my oldest son was 3 years old and led us down an interesting discussion about God.
More is caught, than taught. Children and youth catch far more of what we model than we could ever teach them verbally. We can sit our sons and daughters down at the kitchen table and talk to them for hours on end, but what we model for them in our own lives is what will truly impact their futures.
