HOW SALMON HAVE IMPACTED MY FAITH IN TIMES OF DOUBT

Salmon Are Amazing!

Yesterday, I discussed my appreciation for God’s creation, specifically within marine life. Thinking further into my appreciation for sea creatures great and small, I can’t help but to rest on the salmon. In my opinion, one of God’s greatest creations.

There are a number of species of salmon; all of which are perfect when rubbed with lemon and fresh dill, then baked to perfection! The texture and taste are incredible and unlike any other species of fish. A truly unique sustenance; in my opinion of course.

The biggest species is the King Salmon.

More formally known as the Chinook Salmon. It’s a powerful fish, that dives, jumps and thrashes wildly when hooked. Truly a prize of fishermen near and far.

Though I appreciate God’s design in the strength and taste of salmon, I believe God’s handiwork truly shines within their cycle of life. Through a miraculous process of instinct, that can only be explained through God’s master plan; salmon return each year to the same place.

That’s right; after a few years in the open ocean, growing in strength and size, they return to the very place where their lives began.

I know, it’s hard to believe.

Without any ability to remember such a place, never mind remembering the actual journey to find their way back; they return to begin new life where their lives began.

Even in situations where Salmon face a waterfall, they will swim and thrash vertically through the layers of water and foam, in order to return up-stream. For this reason, I believe salmon are a created wonder that truly make evolutionary theory look weak.

Furthermore, salmon can serve as a tangible weapon to battle our days of doubt. They provide faith that we have a God who has designed miraculous systems not just for His glory, but for our benefit.

How good He truly is, to naturally bring such a delicious and nutritious food source back to the very place it started?
