After 7+ years of pastoral ministry at Mountainview Church, I’ll be taking an extended time of sabbath rest and spiritual renewal. Just over 3 months to reflect and refocus on my calling as a pastor. Before I leave, I wanted to write a post to say thank you.

My transition time is fast approaching. Believe it or not, the packing of boxes actually began yesterday. It’s strange but while packing those boxes, it was the first day that the transition actually felt official.
Satan wants to destroy your deepest relationships; with your family and with Jesus. He’s a deceiver, convincing us that working is more important so that we’ll stay away from the people closest to us, and keep our focus away from God. Don’t be tricked; stop working and rest!
Sickness and pain remind us that we’re broken. That we need someone greater than ourselves to help us. Illness and injury drive us to our knees because we can’t function on our own. At that moment, we finally submit that we’re not doing well. This is good for us.
