I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about posting this. Then again, it’s not written to those who won’t like it. I wanted you to know that there are a lot of us out here on the internet who love you, appreciate you, support you, and are praying for you.
Are you exasperated?
This week, we’ve been discussing the mental, and emotional strain that is being felt, related to COVID-19. But the virus itself is only one piece of the puzzle.
– There are relational impacts as friends and loved get sick.
– There is the financial impact of lost jobs, and an uncertain future.
– There is the community impact of social distancing, and self-isolation.
The increasing pressure has shifting the conversation to ask, “How long can we live like this? Where’s the balance?”
We found a 3-step process.
During times of crisis, people risk their lives to save others. But why would human beings do that? Evolutionary theory doesn’t give us a good answer. Where does survival of the fittest fit into this phenomena? Aren’t our instincts supposed to kick in? I believe the Bible has an answer.
People are searching for answers. COVID-19 has brought an increased interested in Christianity. Pastors and ministers are fielding questions about the Bible, Jesus, Prayer, and eschatology (the study of end times). And social media has blown up with all sorts of questions.
Since the break of the COVID-19 pandemic, many pastors like myself have been fielding an increase in questions related to eschatology. People inside and outside the church have an increased interested in Christ’s return. What will it be like? Will we have any advanced warning? What signs should we look for? When is He coming back? We need balance in these discussions.
Today, I want to bring some truth into the crisis and uncertainty. As social media blows up with all sorts of predictions, and prophecies, and myths, increasing fear and panic; we can choose to cling to truth. And the Apostle Peter, led by the Holy Spirit in the First Century, can help us do just that!
Believe it or not, church leaders give their lives to Jesus at Christian conferences and events every year.

Who was this Child born on that very first Christmas Eve? Why was He so important, that we’d still be talking about Him 2000 years later? Is He still important to us? To humanity? To the world?
Can you believe we’re almost into 2020? Starting a new decade feels more important somehow, doesn’t it? Looking back over ten years brings about a lot of reflection!
Our church, like every church, was founded by a church plant. In May 1946 Rev. Harold Lee arrived in Whitehorse with his wife, Lydia. They had a passion for the Gospel and a heart for those who were marginalized. In September of that year, they planted the Whitehorse Gospel Chapel, the first evangelical church in our city.
People Have Questions. Everyone carries some level of skepticism. Upon hearing the Gospel, whether they accept Christ or not, they’ll be looking for answers. Here’s just a sampling of what people want to know: Is there any real right or wrong? Is there a real heaven and hell? Why is there evil in the world?…
